Ep 272: Wilfred

Usually when a USA network remakes a foreign series, it pales in comparison to the original. The US’s version of The Office is clearly an exception to that rule, but what about the new version of Wilfred? They’ve brought Jason Gann on board to play the title role, but how does it compare?

In I Don’t Buy It, Brett has problems with McDonald’s.

Wilfred(US) has just caught me for some reason, and I’m currently watching the (AUS) version. The US one is clearly a little tighter and polished. I’ve laughed out loud a few times in the US one, but I just like how Wilfred is ‘training’ Ryan through some emotions. Really enjoying it.

Brett, you were right. Foxtel and Austar had agreed to the buyout terms and the deal was settled, which is what you read/recall/heard. However it was always going to have to be ok’d by the ACCC, which is looking unlikely.

Isn’t a sextillion an orgy on a ship?

  3. Thanks for the return of If You Watch One Thing to the show notes.
