Ep 6: Ed Phillips, Brainiac

This week is our best episode ever!

Our special guest this week is Ed Phillips, host of Temptation.

I Don’t Buy It takes a look at the very political world of the Government’s new industrial relations advertisements.

We take a quick look at Filthy Rich Cattle Drive, The Apprentice and Brainiac.

And there’s the new segment, Crap TV which is like all the other bits of the show but with an emphasis on the crap!

There’s also the Boxcutters Quiz and a whole bunch of news.

Check it out. You won’t be sorry.

Rich Kids Can’t Drive

I’m wondering if anybody has had a chance to check out Filthy Rich Cattle Drive on E!.

I don’t know where they’re getting programmes like this and Kill Reality which I spoke about on the show last week. It is car-crash TV at its best.

I’d like to hear your comments if you’ve had a chance to check it out.

Next week, I’m sure there’ll be some TV executive who has decided to actually make a show about throwing shit to a wall and seeing if it sticks.

Coxy from the Roxy and WTF?N

If you’re not aware of the juggernaut that is Coxy, check out his web site.

And more to that call for Perfect Match contestants, WTF?N Entertainment have a web site, too.

That number again…

No, it’s nothing about the mysterious series of numbers in Lost – I just thought I’d post the details from that call for entries:

Hey guys if you or someone you know wants to find that lucky guy or gal, send an email with details to contestant@wtfn.com.au to be in a “perfect match” style show that will be done out of melbourne (sic)

I’m not sure what’s going on with this dude’s SHIFT key but you get the drift.

If you do happen to send in your details to see if you can get on this sure-to-be-zany show, shoot us an email to let us know. Maybe we’ll even get you in for a chat to tell us about your experiences.

I tracked down the web site for these guys and they do quite a bit of local production of infotainment titles – including Melbourne Woman, which we mentioned in a previous show, and, I think, everything that Coxy from the Roxy is involved with on-air at the moment.

Now that I think of it, an old friend of mine was doing some producing for Bread, the last time I checked, and we might get her in for a chat too…

Ep 5: Kill Reality, Insiders

This week we’re taking a little break from the usual hit format and talking about TV

Raywatch: Not wanting to focus on the negative ALL the time, we take a break to accentuate the positive and give Ray and Naomi a suggestion they could take a few pointers from. Every Sunday at 9am, Barrie Cassidy presents Insiders

I Don’t Buy It: Allergy medications and Blue Fire Chirascuria

TV shows: Kill Reality and The Apprentice

The Boxcutters Quiz

Warning: Undefined array key 0 in /home/cropley/public_html/boxcutters/wp-content/themes/boxcutters2011/functions.php on line 571

Congratulations to Chad who won the first ever Boxcutters quiz.

There are still 4 hours left before entries close on the current quiz.

The questions were:

Which two sitcoms produced more episodes than the Simpsons have thus far?
Who plays the voice of Groundskeeper Willy on the Simpsons?

Email your answers to hooray@boxcutters.net and you could win yourself a boxcutters t-shirt.

Andy Dick

Something we forgot to mention on the show this week – though we did run it in the blog – was the passing of Don Adams – Maxwell Smart.

Australian audiences aren’t generally aware that Get Smart actually returned to the airwaves in the mid-90s. It only ran 7 episodes and didn’t rate particularly well. Don Adams reprised his role as Maxwell Smart but, through the pattern of the most inept workers getting all the promotions, he was the chief of Control. However, he wasn’t the main character in this reincarnation of the classic series. Instead, Andy Dick played Zach Smart – son of Max and 99 – as the main character, and just couldn’t carry the series in the end.

All of that is a roundabout way to introduce something I found with Andy Dick. Check it out here

Some Simpsons Stuff

My favourite Simpsons related website: The Simpsons Archive: www.snpp.com. A lot of great stuff there.

And the both amusing and insulting site for the I mentioned in the show for those who don’t like the new style of packaging: www.simpsonsbox.com

More to come to back up my “it’s time to go” stance.

A new home
