If you want to know what the hell we’re talking about during I Don’t Buy It this week, check out this ad.

Once you’ve seen that, have a look at what our mates at the Chaser had to say about it*.

It’s not hard to see why so many people are angry about it. Not the people in the ads, however. They’re really happy. Maybe it’s because they just got paid for being in an ad. Of course next time they get paid for being in an ad they won’t get paid nearly as much. That is when they will realise what they’ve done. How are they going to live with themselves then?

* They’re not really our mates but we’re sure they’d like us if they met us.

  1. If you REALLY want to know what the hell we’re talking about, load the ad up, watch it, wait 5 minutes, watch it, wait 5 minutes, […] for the rest of the night…

  2. I had a conversation last night with a 1st A.D. who was offered a piece of work recently. His agent rang up and said she had some work that would be over a couple of days – including a Sunday which would pay double time with penalty rates. There were a nunber of other sweeteners included as well.

He was suspicious about it sounding a little too good and asked who it was for, given the agent had failed to mention who the client was…

The moment he heard it was for the WorkChoice campaign, he declined. Apparently they had some problems getting people to work on the job…

Does anybody else remember Renee Geyer recording the campaign song for the Liberals back in 1975? It sounded a little something like this. Shortly after that she relocated to the US. I’m sure the story that no one would work with her because of her role in Australia’s darkest political moment couldn’t possibly be true.
