  1. Just a quick mention about Ian Turpie: his face turned up on the Fame Game on the new Temptation/Sale of the Century.
From memory, Ed Phillips said something like “And to celebrate 40 years of television, our Fame Game presents some of our best-loved faces…” or somesuch.
So all the people on the board are old Nine celebrities, and with each Ed Phillips does a little spiel:
Graeme Kennedy: “Old Gra-Gra blah blah…”
    Denise Drydale: “Ding-Dong blah blah…”
Ian Turpie: (insert uncomfortable silence for several seconds, while Ed tries to remember exactly what Turps actually did for Nine…)
Maurie Fields: “Always memorable for the Great Aussie Joke…”
    and so on…

Meanwhile, nice little show you got here…
As Turps would say, “Keep it up!”
    Cheers, Chad.

  2. Hey Chad, Ian Turpie has been in show business since he was 10, hosted the new price is right twice and hosted about 4 other game shows. He has been on every channel at one time or another and he has more musical talent, talent as an MC and talent as a TV host in his little finger than most on television today have in their whole bodies. Too bad we are obsessed with youth and, therefore, crappy tv presenters who look good or he’d be back on TV where he belongs, one of very few with PERSONALITY.

  3. Hey Yeshua,

Care to share how you happen to be such an expert on Turps? I know the answer but I believe transparency is key.

Anyway, you might also like to enlighten us with what he’s doing now. He was great on Roy and HG but I don’t think we’re using our talent to its fullest potential.
