Sometimes we need to tell you about what’s happening with the podcast or just our site in general. That’s what you’ll find in “Announcements”.

It’s an Episode 276 Whoopsie

Yes. There were some editing issues with this week’s episode and we’ve had to take it offline so we can bring it up to our usual standard of only some mistakes.

Sorry about that. We’ll republish it soon.

Also, sorry to the people who already downloaded it and now have a less good version. You can download the new version when it’s ready and do a compare and contrast.

Thanks for understanding.

Sorry about the feed for 275

There was a mistake in the RSS feed for Episode 275 and some people got Episode 273 instead. Sorry about that.

We’ve fixed the issue but if you’re stuck at work and just want to listen to the show, you can always download it directly by clicking on the MP3 icon on the post or, for your convenience, we’ve replicated it here.

Once again, sorry. We hope it didn’t anger up your Tuesday morning blood.

Episode 274 is delayed

Sorry to spoil your Tuesday morning commute but we’ve had to postpone Episode 274.

The wonderful 3RRR need all of their studios for their excellent radio training programme. If you want to learn how to make great radio, we can highly recommend this course.

However, it means we have to wait until Wednesday before we can record Ep 274.

We promise it will be worth the wait.

In the mean time, have you seen what we look like?

Family Portrait: 2011

There have been many changes to the Boxcutters line up since the last portrait and it’s been a struggle to get everyone together for a new photo but we managed it over the weekend.

So, if you’ve wondered what we all look like, here is your chance.

It’s our new website!

We’re so happy to unveil the new Boxcutters website design. We’ve been working on it for quite a while.

What you’ll see here is part of our new direction with Boxcutters. It’s not really a change in direction but filling out some ideas we’ve had for a long time.

We want to have more reviews that you can read at your leisure. Some of these will be shows we’ve already covered in previous episodes, some will be shows we never quite got around to reviewing in the podcast.

Also, we felt it was important to be able to highlight news stories from time to time and also have a place to announce live events, competitions, and things that relate to what the Boxcutters team is doing and when.

Most importantly, we wanted it to be easier for you to see the latest episode, listen in your browser, know exactly where to click to download or subscribe, and look at the site on your mobile device.

What else? Well, we’re making it easier for you to just go straight to an episode. Instead of all those pesky dates and confusing titles in the URL, you can just go to http://boxcutters.net/epsiode##. For example, if you want to listen to or comment on episode 268 you could just type in boxcutters.net/episode268 and the site will automatically take you there. We haven’t converted all the episode to act like that, but we’re getting there.

None of this would have been possible without the hard work and sheer brilliance of Peter Wilson from Soupgiant (who put in all the hard hours of coding) and Christa Lopez-White from Zepol (who did all of our graphic design).

Please, let us know what you think and if there’s anything else we can improve on the site.

It’s The Muppet Show!

John and Josh will investigate the ins and outs of the Muppet Show live at ACMI on 28 July.

Remember how good the Press Gang and Degrassi show was back in February? Oh, you wanted to get tickets but couldn’t because it sold out? Well, don’t make that same mistake this time.

There will be surprises. There will be laughs. There will be intellectual discussions about pop culture that may change the way you think FOREVER!

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll feel justified in buying this t-shirt.

Spell effectedSM

John and I are both going to be on a few panels at Continuum this weekend but there’s one we’re co-hosting that is very exciting.

The premise is: Australian science fiction, fantasy and other speculative genres is very successful in children’s TV, so why don’t we make any for adults?

We’ll be interviewing:

That session’s happening on the Saturday at 2pm so get your passes and head on over.

There’s so much great stuff happening at Continuum this year and lots of great talks. We’re excited.

Delay on Degrassi and Press Gang Audio

So sorry for this. There are some problems uploading the file for this week’s release of the live show we did at ACMI.

We’re working on getting up first thing in the morning. It’s worth the wait. We promise.

In the mean time, some of our videos that we used in the show have already gone up on our YouTube channel. Check it out.
