Who will tend Jamie’s garden?

The Nine Network today made the following statement:

The Nine Network Australia today announced that it has parted company with Jamie Durie.
After seven years association with Durie, the Nine Network would like to wish him all the best in
his future endeavours.
No further comment will be offered by the Network.

While I’m sure none of us are surprised by this announcement, what with all of the success he’s had overseas, the coldness of the statement betrays some hostility. The fact that “no further comment will be offered” just makes me more curious.

Steve Irwin Doll Pics

Here they are, after much promising and organising in my new abode – I’d lost the cable to connect my camera to the computer – the pictures of the original talking Steve Irwin doll.

Boxcutters Epsiode 69

Hey hey, another fun filled show filled with fun.

This week more of your favourites, the stuff you asked for, the stuff you love!!

Yes, there is a Crap TV looking at the ACA and the cricket, a slamming of the ridiculous Channel 10 Supernatural download deal that we trumpeted last week, there’s an I Don’t Buy All Bran with Merv Hughes, News, Pork PLUS the original Steve Irwin doll, live in the studio. CRICKEY! You won’t believe your ears.

All this and maybe something else.

Boxcutters Episode 68

Another fun filled ep on the old radi-ola. But for those of you not yet across this radio wave transmitting technology we are putting the show up in the more traditional, old fashioned podcast format too.

Lots of fun here. Our special guest: Corinne Grant drops in to give us the inside goss on the Glass House and her other TV projects (both involvement and watching).

There’s a Raywatch where we exposing a Today Tonight scandal that goes all the way to the Mayor’s office (which unfortunately was empty).

And a bunch of other stuff.

All this plus on the radio we had music (and possibly do on this if there is a technical error).

Why?:

Where’s the Challah?

Hey, I missed tonight’s live show and so I’ve been refreshing the Boxcutters site on a minutely-by-minutely schedule. So far, no Challah! Whassup fellas? Some of us are hungry for it. Hope you had a good show (“good show everybody”, Sorkin style).

Jonesing now . . .

Trekkies! Try to keep your pants on

Over at TV Squad they’ve got Wil Wheaton doing reviews of the Star Trek Next Gen series. He’s just posted his look at Episode 1. It’s well worth having a read.

Trouble For Nine

Boxcutters Europe office pointed me towards this article after listen to our show week.

I understand it is a difficult position for Nine, but promoting shows that have already been cancelled and therefore can’t run even half the series is pointless for the network and an insult to their audience.

The O.C. gets canned

Fox has cancelled the O.C.

Last ep to air in the states Feb 22nd and here presumably very soon after. Bad news for Ten. I wonder if they would have delayed screening the whole series till this year if they had known.

The Venice Project™ is a new venture that combines the best elements of the TV experience with the most powerful internet technologies, in a way that will redefine the way people think about television. It is not a file-sharing application or a video download service.

I think it’s worth keeping an eye on this one. I also think Brett doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The way these guys created Skype used existing technologies in a way that nobody else had thought of. They are innovators and I’m quite excited about what they’re building with regard to TV. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Boxcutters Episode 67

It’s Episode 67 – Choc full of fun-o-rama and excitment.

Why’s that you ask? Well, just take a look at this.

There’s a Crap TV, the return of Raywatch, an I Don’t Buy It, a look at the continued fizzing of The Apprentice, some suggested websites to peruse, News and a tiny serving of Pork (we figure you’re probably all still full after Christmas) all packed into an airtight 45 minutes of happy, smiley gooeyness.
