Where’s the Challah?

Hey, I missed tonight’s live show and so I’ve been refreshing the Boxcutters site on a minutely-by-minutely schedule. So far, no Challah! Whassup fellas? Some of us are hungry for it. Hope you had a good show (“good show everybody”, Sorkin style).

Jonesing now . . .

Trekkies! Try to keep your pants on

Over at TV Squad they’ve got Wil Wheaton doing reviews of the Star Trek Next Gen series. He’s just posted his look at Episode 1. It’s well worth having a read.

Trouble For Nine

Boxcutters Europe office pointed me towards this article after listen to our show week.

I understand it is a difficult position for Nine, but promoting shows that have already been cancelled and therefore can’t run even half the series is pointless for the network and an insult to their audience.

The O.C. gets canned

Fox has cancelled the O.C.

Last ep to air in the states Feb 22nd and here presumably very soon after. Bad news for Ten. I wonder if they would have delayed screening the whole series till this year if they had known.

Torchwood

The “Doctor Who” spin-off series “Torchwood”, will make its way onto Australian screens in 2007 on the ABC.
Torchwood tells the tale of a secret organisation which looks into strange and Alien goings on in Cardif. This new series brings back some familiar faces. John Barrowman reprises his role as “Captain Jack Harkness” a short term companion to the Doctor and Rose and will head up the team, while Eve Myles “Gwen Cooper” and Naoko Mori “Tosh” both get full casting after bit parts in Doctor Who.

He’s Back…….

The Herald Sun is reporting Eddie McGuire is set to make a shock (their words) return to TV as host of new Channel 9 1 vs 100 whilst remaining CEO.

Apparently after an ‘exhaustive’ search (again, their words) they couldn’t find a single person who can match Eddie’s hosting prowess.

Seems odd. Like we said back in July – it’s his one trump card as CEO “Hey, I’ll host” and this is the third time he’s pulled it out (World Cup Footy Show, Miner’s concert). Be interesting to see how it goes.

But Rosie, what do you really think?

Rosie O’Donnel and Donald Trump are having some kind of barney. Is that enough reason for ROD to write some terrible poetry on her blog?

so tiny books
now
express in torn images
my inside

i was raised reading ms magazine
i remember the burning of bras
as women demanded equality
in unison

beauty pageants
where women were paraded around
judged valuable or not
by old white men

it is always old white men

Believe it or not, the poetry gets much worse. Remember when she was just a funny comedian who was said to have molested children (or was that Paula Poundstone? their voices are so similar I get them confused).

Dave Good, Dave Bad

At 3am Sunday morning The Late Show With David Letterman screens on Channel 9 for the last time.

Then staring 11:45pm Monday night it begins on Channel 10.

This is both good and bad. Unfortunately Channel 10 have squeezed in some useless crap in between the end of the news and Letterman – Cybershak, Live At The Chapel, the god -aweful Joker Poker etc etc. Thursday is the only night it comes on at it’s rightful time of 11:15pm.

Oh well, better than 2, 3, 4am and better at a consistent time each night. Fingers crossed they will see the light and put it earlier soon, but really I can’t complain.

Also, it will be interesting to see which ep they run on Jan 1st. It could easily be the same ep Channel 9 Sunday morning (the previous Friday night show from the states).

Outrageous Copyright Ruling

Loyal Listener Lyndal has outdone herself with bringing this item to our attention:

A full bench of the Federal Court yesterday upheld an earlier ruling that Stephen Cooper, the operator of mp3s4free.net, as well as the internet service provider that hosted the website, were guilty of authorising copyright infringement because they provided a search engine through which a user could illegally download MP3 files. The website did not directly host any copyright-protected music, but the court held that simply providing links to the material effectively authorised copyright infringement. Sydney Morning Herald

3RRR Radio Show – Tv Songs

(This is my first go at this, so be gentle!)

Having listened to the Radio Show/Podcast, I thought, how about we start a post with some Tv Song related music.

I’m sure there are enough out there for the summer-fill.

my first two are:

1. Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy – Television, the Drug of the Nation

2. The “A” Team Theme (because it would be fun to hear) – it’s on the Napolean Dynamite Soundtrack
